Rob loves sushi.  There are numerous times when  you can find us at our favorite sushi restaurant Osaka.  We’re there so often everybody knows us by name – including the owner!  We usually sit at the sushi bar and enjoy conversation with the sushi chefs – Alex, Luis, and Leo! 

You’re probably wondering what spicy edamame has to do with sushi.  Well, I had tried some steamed, salted edamame and happened to see it on the menu.  They offered it spicy style.  Rob and I love spicy foods so we decided to give it a try.  One taste and we were hooked.  Every time we go to Osaka we order spicy edamame.  It is soooooo good! 

I had wanted to re-create it at home and finally had a chance to give it a whirl.  It was so close and both Rob and I absolutely loved.  I foresee us making a lot of this in the future!!  Feel free to adjust the amount of heat to your liking!!

Spicy Edamame2

Spicy Edamame

1 packet edamame, steamed
1 Tbsp. Olive oil
Siracha Chili Sauce to taste
Onion Powder, Garlic Powder, Salt, Crushed Red Pepper flakes, to taste
1/4 tsp. lemon juice

1)  Steam the edamame until cooked.
2)  In a skillet, heat the olive oil and add the edamame.  Add a little Siracha sauce (be careful – because this stuff is HOT).  Season with onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper flakes.
3)  Add the lemon juice and toss to coat well.  Serve immediately.
